Special Issue on Forests, Agriculture and Environmental Protection
Call for papers – Journal of Natural Resources Research
Forests and agricultural systems are an integral part of the global environment and human well‐being, providing multiple goods and services essential for people worldwide and crucial for sustainable development. Forests are seen as carbon sinks, as stabilizers of climate, as protectors of watersheds, and as conservers of biological diversity. Agriculture uses natural resources to produce commodities, which maintain life. Often these agroforestry systems are characterized by a decentral operation which impedes sometimes sustainable management.
In this context, the efficient use, protection and conservation of natural resources (vegetation, water, soil, climate) in agroforestry systems are the key to achieve international sustainable development goals and ensure the promotion of an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable future. Hence, quantitative studies from all aspects of forest, agriculture and environment sustainable management are encouraged to contribute to this Special Issue in order to promote knowledge and sustainable strategies for the preservation and management of natural resources in agroforestry systems.
The topics relevant to the Special Issue include (but are not limited to) the following topics.
- Natural resources and rural development
- Forest management under climate change
- Biomass and waste for energy production
- Ecosystem services from forest
- Soil erosion and protection
- Sustainable Land Use, landscape management and governance
- Greenhouse gas emission and control
- Soil and water pollution, remediation and conservation in decentral locations
- Sustainable management of wastewater and water resources
- Environmental impact and risk assessment
- Sustainable solid waste management
Submission Guideline:
All high quality submitted papers related to the listed topics will be considered for publication in this special issue, provided they are recommended for publication after the review process.
All manuscripts submission and review will be handled by Springer’s Journal Editorial Office (https://www.editorialmanager.com/narr). Please, make sure to choose “SI: Forests, agriculture and environmental protection” as article type.
All papers should be prepared according to NARR Guide for Authors (http://www.springer.com/mathematics/journal/11053). Manuscripts should be no longer than 30 double-spaced pages without the title page, abstract, or references.
