The position will be limited to 3 years and should be filled as soon as possible. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (TV-L E13) with 65%, which corresponds to 25.87 working hours per week.
The project / your duties
Rainforest transformation alters ecosystem water cycles with respect to the magnitude of fluxes, their spatial heterogeneity and their temporal variability. We address the spatial and temporal variability in plant water use across sites as well as mechanisms controlling tree and palm water use. The methods include different sap flux techniques and an airborne screening of canopy leaf temperatures.
• Master’s degree in forestry, ecology or agriculture.
• Research focus on plant ecology and eco-hydrology.
• Proficiency in English.
• Willingness to collaborate with other researchers of the CRC.
• Ability to work under field conditions in the tropics.
• Advanced knowledge in eco-physiological methods and data processing will be a plus.
The project will be based in Goettingen, but field work is done in Indonesia.
